This course combines units of study from Art and Design, Creative Media and Performing Arts to give you a broad experience of working and learning in the creative industries. You will develop your practical skills as well as your understanding and appreciation of the creative process.
This course is ideal for any aspiring artist, filmmaker, designer or performer.
On this course you will develop and the skills and knowledge to progress and achieve in the creative sector. You will have the opportunity to realise your creative potential through an exciting range of projects that combine performance, 2D & 3D visual arts and filmmaking.
Opportunities will exist for students to successfully complete their GCSEs in mathematics and English if needed.
There are no exams on this course. Assessment is all done through assignments, practical project work and portfolios.
Entry onto the course requires a standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to four GCSEs grade D-G or other related level 1 qualifications.
You will also be invited for an interview with the course leader.
On successful completion of this course you will hold level 2 qualifications that are equivalent to 6 GCSE’s at Grade A* to C.
Studying a BTEC Level 2 in Creative Arts will give you the skills and experience you need to progress on to a Level 3 qualification. You will be able to apply for the Level 3 BTEC Diplomas in Art and Design, Media or Performing Arts or any other level 3 qualifications.
