Before enrolling on a course you will need to be assessed in order to determine which class is appropriate for you.
Assessment interviews will be held during the academic year, so please phone Martyn Mitchell at the Guernsey College of Further Education on 737500, so that an assessment interview can be arranged for you.
The assessment interview will last 30 - 40 minutes approximately.
Once you have been assessed, you can enrol on the appropriate course by completing an enrolment form, which is available at the college.
Courses are likely to take place in the evening, although some lessons may be held during the day, subject to sufficient demand.
Full details of the day and time of the course will be given to you when you have been allocated a place on your course.
Each lesson lasts for one and a half hours and there is one lesson a week for the course you are attending. Some lessons at the more advanced levels may last for two hours.
The courses commence at the end of September and will finish in June of the following year.
It is usually possible to join a course after it has started provided the course is not full and with the agreement of the tutor.
The cost of the course is £155 which covers three terms’ tuition, (approximately 30 weeks) commencing in September. This cost is inclusive of a college enrolment fee of £10.
It is recommended that course text books costing approximately £30 be purchased, the details of which can be obtained from your course tutor.
Courses take place at the main site of the Guernsey College of Further Education at Route des Coutanchez, St Peter Port and at the college’s annexe at Brock Road, St Peter Port. Other venues may be added if required.
If you wish to sit an examination, you will be required to pay an examination fee. The fee will vary according to the examination that you take, so it is recommended that you obtain the relevant details from your course tutor.
Examinations will normally take place towards the end of June or the beginning of July
