We provide a high quality provision which addresses barriers to learning and is efficient, effective, sustainable and financially viable in its relationship with the college as a whole. Employability and progression will be embedded as key principles, as will the contribution that our work in this field can make to the well being of the island. We ensure that our offender learning provision benefits in full from the expertise that the college has built up in other areas.
We will inform and influence policy as it affects the offered learning sector.
Our strategy is driven by the prevention of re-offending and based on the national Offender Learning Journey (OLJ) for adults and the OLJ for juveniles. Our curriculum addresses barriers to learning and is appropriate to individual needs and aspirations taking into account the category of Guernsey Prison, the length of stay and working to nationally recognised accreditation standards. This also applies to provision delivered to newly released offenders and learners on court orders within the community.

We offer:
an inclusive curriculum which takes into account the individual needs of the learner and that of the prison, which will wherever possible be a demand-led, employer-driven curriculum.
- integrated employment and skills.
- working towards a virtual campus model.
- continuous quality improvement.
- continual professional development for all staff.
- a framework for excellence and performance management.
- 52 weeks contract delivery.
- effective and efficient deployment of resources.
