Beauty courses are run in the College’s working salon – Visions Hair & Beauty Salon

Visions Hair & Beauty Salon is open to the public giving students practical vocational experience whilst training, and are fully equipped with everything you expect to find in a commercial salon.

These courses train students to industry standards that model real and demanding working environments.

Visions Hair & Beauty Salon offers great value services using the latest state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained tutors. Trainee  beauty therapy learners provide a great service to a wide range of customers.

We offer everything from a spray tan for a gorgeous sun kissed glow to a funky new hair colour.

Beauty & Holistic Therapies

The courses we offer prepare you for working in the industry and will emulate real working environments.

Progress to Beauty – Level 1

Units covered will be:

  • Developing self
  • Preparation for work
  • Environmental awareness
  • Working as part of a group

Plus a selection of beauty units

Level 2 City & Guilds NVQ Beauty Therapy

Units covered will be:

  • Lash and brows
  • Makeup
  • Waxing
  • Facial
  • Manicure and pedicure
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Reception duties
  • Health and safety

Level 3 City & Guilds NVQ Beauty Therapy

Units covered will be:

  • Body massage
  • Electrolysis
  • Face and body electric
  • Indian head massage
  • Intimate waxing or lash extensions

Additional learning support

As part of your learning programme, if you have not yet attained a grade C/4 or equivalent in mathematics and English language, you will be required to study a Functional Skill or GCSE in these
subjects.

Students may require additional support for a number of reasons. At the start of your course you will be asked to complete an initial assessment in order for us to identify any additional needs that you may have. During your course, your personal tutor will be able to guide you on how best to access support.
