Taster morning

Year 11 students come in to the College with their school for our taster morning on Thursday 18 January which runs between 9am and 12 noon. Students are welcomed by one of our Directors, given a short tour of the campus before spending the morning in the vocational area of their choice. The morning should give them a flavour of the course they are interested in and what is involved in college life, and help them in making their Post-16 choices. Students from St Anne’s spend the whole day with us.

Individual student guidance discussions

The next stage is when our Programme Leaders visit the high schools to have a more detailed discussion with each student about themselves, the course they are interested in, and their career aspirations. These take place from the end of January 2022 and throughout February. Students at the private colleges who are interested in applying for a course here in September will need to have one of these meetings  with a Programme Leader, and should speak to their Careers Teacher to arrange this. They are also welcome to contact our Enrolment team on All students will be asked to complete a Google form prior to their one-to-one meeting.

Last year we launched a site with information and activities to help students in their Post-16 decision making, which will be updated during the autumn term. This can be viewed HERE. Students who are home-schooled or who are not currently in education are also very welcome to undertake these activities.

Bridging Courses

We will be holding the following Bridging Courses

Level 2 and Level 3 courses – Wednesday 28 June 2023

All Level 1 students must attend – it is an opportunity to meet the team and, again, is an essential part of your Careers Information Advice and Guidance.
