Welcome to the College Library
A big welcome from the Library and Learning Resource Service.
Rachel, Heather and Emilee are here to help every learner at the College get the most out of their course by offering them support and advice about using different sources of information, ranging from books and magazines to websites and social networking. We are also open to members of the public, who are welcome to borrow books from us.
The libraries at each of the three campuses are relaxed spaces where College students can find space to study, curl up with a book, use the computers for study or even sit with a friend and play a game of chess. Each library is open to College students during the campus opening hours.
I just wanted to let you know that I have just read the ‘CITE IT RIGHT’ book you lent me and found it really easy to understand! I even found it interesting. I am now feeling confident about referencing in my next assignment.
This large airy room is the perfect tranquil place to come and get away from it all. With computer access and large tables for group work or just to spread out your stuff on, you’ll find it a doddle to get that assignment finished. This is where to come when you want resources for Building and Construction subjects, Catering, ICT, ESOL, teacher training and functional skills. We also have a rather good little fiction section if that’s your bag.
If you like a bit of buzz in your library why not try out Delancey library? This place is always full of people studying, socialising or meeting up with Heather who runs it. A word of warning though, if you want to reduce distractions, bring your headphones! Come here for resources relating to Health and Social Care, Early Years, Art & Design, and Sport. If you’re new to reading for pleasure and don’t know where to start, this campus library has a fantastic selection of books that are easier to read, as well as more challenging fiction for those that like it.
Les Ozouets Library
“The College’s newest library. Recently expanded, it now provides space for group working and collaboration and a separate “quiet zone” for individual study. There are computers if you need them, as well as a range of resources covering Law, Business, HR & Management, Administration, Education, Sports, Performing Arts and Hair & Beauty. Come and relax on the sofa and read a book from the ever expanding fiction collection, play a game of chess with a friend or catch up with our newest library assistant, Emilee.
