Taster morning
Year 11 students come in to the College with their school for our taster morning on Wednesday 15 January 2025 which runs between 9am and 12.20pm. Students are welcomed by one of our Directors, given a short tour of the campus before spending the morning in the vocational area of their choice. The morning should give them a flavour of the course they are interested in and what is involved in college life, and help them in making their Post-16 choices. Students from St Anne’s spend the whole day with us.
Individual student guidance discussions
The next stage is when our Programme Leaders visit the high schools to have a more detailed discussion with each student about themselves, the course they are interested in, and their career aspirations. These take place from the end of January 2025 and throughout February. Students at the private colleges who are interested in applying for a course here in September will need to have one of these meetings with a Programme Leader, and should speak to their Careers Teacher to arrange this. They are also welcome to contact our Enrolment team on enrolment@gcfe.net. All students will be asked to complete a Google form prior to their one-to-one meeting.
Optional drop-in sessions for Year 11 students
On Wednesday 25 June 2025, we have optional transition drop-in sessions for year 11 students who have been offered a place with us in September. These will be held at the campus the course is based at between 4 and 5.30pm – there is no need to book – and will provide the opportunity for students, who have already engaged with Open Evenings, Guidance meetings and Taster Days, to visit the College if they have any questions and have a chat with the team. If they are undecided on whether they would like to accept their offer, or they did not apply for a course with us but are interested in looking into this possibility, they can still come along and talk about their options.
Entry criteria
A list of specific entry requirements for our full-time courses and apprenticeships will be available here shortly.
