Horticultural Forum Meeting

If you are an employer within the Guernsey horticultural sector and would like to be involved with this discussion, you are very welcome to attend this meeting and we would love to hear from you.

The College has identified that there may be a need in the local community to provide formal qualifications in horticulture/land-based provision. We are currently looking into establishing an employer liaison group to identify the demand on island for education and training.  We are considering delivering an apprenticeship / traineeship scheme for employees to achieve a recognised qualification in partnership with their employers via the college, along with developing provision for school leavers and specialist horticultural training.

Initially, within our forum, we will be focusing on identifying the demand for education and training in horticulture, shaping what that needs to look like and then collating a proposal. Attendees are very welcome to bring other topics for debate to the event too.

The college is very keen to ensure we have professionally qualified people working within horticulture and to ensure the College provides high standards of adequate training that supports professional practice.

The meeting details are as follows:

Time: 5.30pm-6.30pm
Venue: Green Room, Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts

If you like to attend, please email Fiona Fish fionaf@gcfe.net or Jeanette Hart jeanetteh@gcfe.net
