Aim higher at the College

TGI, College of Further Education offers a number of Higher Education qualifications across a range of subjects. These courses are run in association with several UK universities with which the College team has developed working relationships. These courses are ideal for students who prefer to remain on the island and who prefer to study on part-time basis whilst also working and earning money. 

CIOB Level 4 Diploma in Site Management

This course is designed for construction site managers working in the construction sector who are progressing into managing larger and more complex projects. The qualification develops the students’ knowledge and skills to plan and programme projects, liaise with stakeholders and oversee large or complex construction projects safely and efficiently.


Training Assessment & Quality Assurance (TAQA)

TAQA is a suite of qualifications for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and quality assurance. There are a variety of knowledge and practical unit combinations available. Level 3 focuses on assessment and Level 4 focuses on internal quality assurance (IQA). 


BTEC Level 4 HNC and Level 5 HND in Business

These courses will develop you as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the business sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance your career prospects.


Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training

The Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training is a City & Guilds accredited teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is a qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers. All candidates will be required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of teaching as part of the study programme over two years.


CMI Level 5 Certificate & Diploma in Management & Leadership

These qualifications are designed to provide a firm foundation in ideas, techniques and overall competences that will improve management effectiveness and performance and will give you a broader knowledge of middle management skills whilst focusing on the specific leadership areas appropriate to you and your workplace.


CIPD Level 5 Diploma in People Management

This CIPD qualification at intermediate level offers the perfect platform to further develop your HR, Leadership & Development and other specialist knowledge after completing a CIPD Foundation level qualification. Alternatively, if you are already working in HR, but have no professionally-recognised qualification, you can choose to study this intermediate level course.


CMI Level 5 Award in Managing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

This qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner. The primary role of a practising or aspiring manager and leader is to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with organisational strategy. The course is aimed at enabling managers to understand the business case for equality, diversity and inclusion and their role in creating inclusive cultures.
